How Does Blue Monarch Hospice Work?
Care comes to your loved one instead of the other way around. That might mean their own Carlsbad home, an assisted living center, a nursing home, or a hospital room. Nobody needs to be moved for our team to begin.
How Long is Blue Monarch Hospice care?
Length varies from one patient to another, with no standard duration. Carlsbad patients most often begin when a physician believes roughly six months or less remain. Hospice can also be stopped and restarted, so families are never locked into a single path.

Compassionate Hospice Care with Blue Monarch
Husband and wife nurses Raphael Akobundu and Britt Akobundu started Blue Monarch Hospice in San Diego County with two goals in mind, better end-of-life care for patients and better treatment for the workers who deliver it. Raphael kept running into the same problem over the course of his career, where service and attention dropped off at the exact point a patient moved into hospice. He and Britt built Blue Monarch as their answer to that gap.
The people on our staff have spent years doing this work, and that experience shows in how peacefully Carlsbad patients are able to transition.
